June 15, 2026 OLYMP is placing responsibility for people and the environment at the heart of its mission
Fashion brand adapts its sustainability communications to changing needs
“Responsibility is only a value if you live up to it.” With this key quote from Mark Bezner, owner and CEO of OLYMP Bezner KG (Ludwigsburg district, Baden-Württemberg, Germany), the company – internationally renowned for high-quality men’s fashion – is launching its new communications campaign on corporate responsibility and sustainability.
In future, OLYMP will label every product with its individual sustainability characteristics. In doing so, the fashion brand is focussing exclusively on recognised labels and certifications such as FAIR WEAR, OEKO-TEX, GOTS, OCS, RWS, RCS and TENCELTM, thereby ensuring maximum transparency and traceability. The company is thereby responding to the changing needs of its customers with a view to a successful future, whilst also meeting the regulatory requirements of the new EU Empowering Consumers Directive (EmpCo) in the fight against greenwashing.
“We are now clearly communicating the more environmentally and socially sustainable properties of materials – that are certified by recognised standards – on our products. In this way, we are not only offering our brand fans clear guidance when they purchase OLYMP items, but at the same time demonstrate our commitment to our responsibility throughout the entire supply chain,” says Johann Trischberger, Chief Operating Officer of OLYMP Bezner KG, adding: “Responsibility needs a face if it is to be credible. That is why Mark Bezner, as the company owner and a third-generation family entrepreneur, personally stands behind our promise with his statement.”
The online shop at www.olymp.com has also been updated to be contemporary and user-friendly. Here, customers can use clear search filters under the “Product Standard” menu item to specifically check for the sustainable features of garments, such as organic-certified natural fibres or certified animal fibres, controlled manufacturing, or the proportion of recycled or wood-based materials. Comprehensive information is also provided on a dedicated landing page and in the “Responsibility” section of the corporate website. From the autumn 2026 collection onwards, hang tags on the products will display the commitment to responsibility, whilst care labels will specify the respective underlying standards and certifications underlying.
The basis for developing this new approach is a survey of customers conducted by the company in 2025. According to the survey, sustainability is an important issue for many when buying clothes. Respondents rated high quality, long life, using materials that do not endanger health, and fair working conditions in production as particularly important.
OLYMP Bezner KG, based in Bietigheim-Bissingen near Stuttgart, is the market leader for shirts in Germany. In addition, its high-quality clothing range – which includes business, casual and full-dress shirts, knitwear, sweatwear, accessories and trousers – is sold in over 40 countries worldwide.
