January 8, 2025 OLYMP proves to be a strong player in the international fashion industry
German fashion brand makes significant investments in the company’s future
OLYMP Bezner KG, based in Bietigheim-Bissingen (Ludwigsburg district, Baden-Württemberg, Germany), was able to confidently hold its own in the international fashion market in the particularly difficult 2024 financial year. The revenues generated by shirts, sweaters, accessories, etc. amounted to 212 million euros in 2024. Considering the adverse circumstances, the men’s fashion specialist can thus boast a solid result.
Mark Bezner (61), owner and CEO of OLYMP Bezner KG, remains optimistic about 2025: “The last 12 months have been the most challenging and difficult I’ve faced in business. It’s been much worse than the years of the pandemic, as there were no government-imposed restrictions that would have affected fashion consumption in any way. However, numerous other factors have led to an unprecedented reluctance to buy clothing. We’ve made the best possible use of this difficult phase to optimise our internal processes and invest in brands and products in order to further develop from a product specialist to a lifestyle brand”.
These include, in particular, measures under the ‘OLYMP Reloaded’ corporate strategy. This defines six spheres of activity: ‘Internationalisation’, ‘Total Look’, ‘Sustainability’, ‘Digitalisation’, ‘Direct Sales’ and ‘People and Culture’. As a further expansion initiative, online sales will soon be launched in neighbouring Switzerland, one of OLYMP’s most important export markets. Furthermore, the men's fashion specialist has expanded its product range in its own web shop in the past year to include a new below-the-waistline range, namely trousers. With three capsule collections developed together with professional sailor and climate protector Boris Herrmann (who is also an ambassador for OLYMP Green Choice), the third of which will be launched in April 2025, OLYMP has continued to gain momentum in terms of its strong commitment to sustainability. The clothing manufacturer is also increasingly focusing on company-wide digitalisation, particularly in product development and showrooms, where retail partners can find out about OLYMP’s latest collections and place advance orders. Its position as an attractive employer has also been strengthened.
Mark Bezner adds: “OLYMP has always been managed within a framework of financial possibility, on a solid foundation and with entrepreneurial foresight. We continue to be in a healthy position and are able to hit the ground running this year with increased brand strength”.
The number of employees at OLYMP has remained stable in 2024, comprising around 860 people in the GSA region. This includes a total of 33 apprentices and sandwich students in commercial and technical professions and courses of study. MAERZ MUENCHEN KG from Munich-Perlach, which belongs to the OLYMP Bezner Group and and has 113 employees in Germany and approx. 230 people at its own knitwear factory in Hungary, also successfully withstood the difficult market environment and generated sales of 27.4 million euros in 2024. Thus, the cumulative total revenue of the OLYMP Bezner Group will be 239.4 million euros in 2024.
