December 19, 2024 OLYMP: 150 shirt runners taking part in the Bietigheim New Year's Eve run
Bietigheim fashion brand is sending its own running team onto the circuit in business shirts
OLYMP Bezner KG from Bietigheim-Bissingen (Ludwigsburg district, Baden-Württemberg, Germany) has assembled an unusual running team for the 2024 Bietigheim New Year's Eve run. The 150 or so running enthusiasts from the "OLYMP Running Team" are not compet-ing in typical running vests but will be wearing particularly innovative business shirts made from jersey material. Famous "fellow runners" of the OLYMP team include last year's Iron-man 70.3 world champion Rico Bogen and the blogger and influencer Konstantin Krayer.
The most striking shirt innovations from the product specialist in recent times include performance shirts such as the OLYMP 24/Seven jersey shirt. This provides the unique comfort of a T-shirt, but at the same time it is stylish, as only a shirt can be. Breathable, quick-drying, elastic, easy-to-iron and odour-inhibiting material characteristics make the OLYMP 24/Seven jersey shirt an unbeatable all-rounder. This means that the shirt is ready for use 24 hours a day, seven days a week, around the clock and for any occasion – such as the 2024 Bietigheim New Year's Eve Run, at which OLYMP will be sending the 150 running enthusiasts to the starting line in this kind of functional shirt.
Heiko Ihben, Brand & Product Managing Director at OLYMP Bezner KG, says: "The tremendously versatile OLYMP 24/Seven shirt made from elastic jersey material is not only an absolute hit in business. The innovative product is also in top form outside of the business world. This will be im-pressively demonstrated by the sports-loving 'OLYMP Running Team' on December 31, 2024. The fact that the 2023 Ironman 70.3 World Champion is taking part in the run as a member of the OLYMP family in the easy-to-iron shirt is probably a positive irony of fate."
The traditional Bietigheim New Year's Eve run is one of the biggest of its kind in Germany. On De-cember 31, 2024, the race will be taking place for the 42nd time in the large district town near Stuttgart. On the final day of the current year, more than 3,000 running enthusiasts are expected to take on the 10.75-kilometre route, which runs through the historic old town of Bietigheim and along the river Enz. OLYMP has actively called for participation via the BESTZEIT podcast and the com-pany-internal Intranet. Leipzig triathlete Rico Bogen, 24, and German fashion and lifestyle blogger Konstantin Krayer (@konstantin) are taking part. As well having their entry fee covered, every member of the "OLYMP Running Team" will be given an individually printed white OLYMP 24/Seven jersey shirt as a running top.
Heiko Ihben adds: "Our attention-grabbing shirt campaign also underlines our commitment to the 'People and Culture' action field, which we have defined for ourselves together with five others in our 'OLYMP Reloaded' corporate strategy, which is based on team spirit, a sense of togetherness and an active and healthy lifestyle."
OLYMP Bezner KG, based in Bietigheim-Bissingen near Stuttgart, is the market leader for shirts in Germany. In addition, its high-quality clothing range – which includes not just business shirts but also casual and full-dress shirts, knitwear, sweatwear and accessories – is sold in more than 40 countries worldwide. The company generated revenue of 229 million euros in 2023.
